People

Our Members

Our department consists of 35 highly trained and dedicated paid-on-call volunteers and two full-time chief officers. All members are fully certified as both firefighters and emergency medical technicians by the time they complete their probationary period. Our members come from all over the Kansas City area, and sometimes even farther! Many of our members are full-time firefighters for other departments in the Kansas City metro area who choose to continue volunteering with us.

Fire Chief

Chief Mindy Andrasevits was hired as the Fire Chief in November of 2021. Prior to serving as our chief, she was a fire inspector and investigator for St. Joseph, MO fire department and a firefighter for North Kansas City, MO fire department.

Assistant fire chief

Assistant Chief Chris Hull joined the department as a volunteer in 2009. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2014, and then Assistant Fire Chief in March of 2020.

Captains

Captain Jacob Long joined the department in 2016 and was promoted to Lieutenant in September of 2018. He achieved his Paramedic certification in 2021.

Captain Benjamin Green first joined the department in 2008. From 2008 - 2018 he served in multiple roles including Fire Inspector, Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Fire Chief. In 2022, he rejoined the department as a Captain with a specialization in training.

Lieutenants

Lt. Yvette Gadberry joined the department as a Lieutenant when Eudora Fire Department and Eudora Community EMS merged in 2007. 

Lt. Brett Sipes joined the department in 2017 and was promoted to Lieutenant in November of 2019.

Lt. Patrick Bradley joined the department in 2017 and was promoted to Lieutenant in January of 2023.

Lt. Taylor Laning joined the department in 2020 and was promoted to Lieutenant in January of 2023.
